Carmex Original Tube Review

Carmex Original Tube ($2.99 for a pack of 3) I think I have found my HG (holy grail) lip protectant. Carmex has worked mircles! For 2 weeks, I was suffering from dry lips. I could not get rid of it. I chugged lots and lots of water thinking maybe it was because of dehydration. That didn’t work. I used my beloved and always-solves-everything Vaseline. Nope. Still dry lips. I used my favorite Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer SPF 15. Nothing. Finally, I dug through my stash of lip balms and treatments hoping to find something that could help. At the bottom of my stash was my pack of Carmexes. I don’t know what made me try it. Thank goodness I did! Within 2 days of using Carmex, my dry lips were gone! Not only were my lips no longer dry, but they were super moisturized. I didn’t have to reapply for hours. What I really like about Carmex, besides the healing and protectant effects, it really soothes. The menthol-like cooling sensation is not very strong where it burns. Instead, it’s a light cooling feel. I LOVE CARMEX! It’s super affordable (approx. $1 a tube) and long lasting. A total must-have.

Valentine’s Day Makeup Look 2

The 2nd Valentine’s Day Makeup Look is a soft, romantic smoky eye. This look is perfect for people who are too timid or are not comfortable sporting a strong smoky look. It’s a mixture of mostly pink and purple with a dab of brown to add warmth. Perfect for Valentine’s Day!

To get this look, I used the Tarte Eye Couture Day to Night Eyeshadow Palatte.

1. Take a champagne color and apply it from your lash line all the up to your brows.

2. Take a light pink color and apply it from your lash line to your crease. Don’t have a crease? Apply it up to your brow bone.

3. Take a greyish purple and apply it to the outer corner of the eye.Next, apply a warm, brown color on top of the purple. Taking a blending brush, blend the purple and brown into the crease. Also, blend away any harsh lines between colors. It’s okay if the color ends up going past the crease. You want a little peak of color.

4. Take the champagne color and apply it to the inner corner of the eye. This will help brighten the eye area and not keep it so dark.

5. Line your eyes with black or a dark brown liner. Don’t forget your waterline.

6. Curl your lashes and layer on the mascara. False lashes optional.

NARS Makeup Primer SPF 20 Review

NARS Makeup Primer SPF 20 ($33)

What it is:
A lightweight, fast-absorbing, sunscreen-infused foundation primer.

What it is formulates to do:
Moisturizes and prepares the skin for flawless makeup application as it protects the skin from environmental damage.

My Thoughts:

Truthfully? I was disappointed. When something costs $33 and is made by NARS, you expect quality performance. I don’t think it made my makeup last throughout the day and it made me look so oily and greasy! I also didn’t like how watery/runny it is. I don’t think this is for people with oily skin. It could possible work for people with normal and/or dry skin.
