LUSH Lip Scrub Review

LUSH Lip Scrub ($8.95)

Sweet Lips: Sweet Lips is the lip scrub for chocolate fanatics. It smells like a bar of creamy milk chocolate. Vanilla extract keeps your lips moisturized, castor sugar gently exfoliates, and the rich, deep fragrance of cocoa absolute gives this an irresistible flavour. It’s meant for exfoliating and softening your lips, but it’s rather tasty too. Rub it over your lips when they’re feeling the need for some chocolate and sugar.

Bubble Gum: This one will make your lips smell like our seasonal, best-selling Snow Fairy shower gel. Bubblegum Lip Scrub is made with exfoliating castor sugar and our delicious vegan flavour to gently scrub away rough skin, keeping your lips smooth and kissably soft. Simply rub it over your lips when you’re feeling the need for some sugar.

Mint Julips: When you use Mint Julips, you’ll find yourself craving a bowl of mint-chocolate chip ice cream. It’s made with invigorating peppermint oil, which will make your lips feel fresh and tingly, along with sweet vanilla extract to lock in moisture and protect your lips. Simply rub it over your lips when you’re feeling the desire for some fresh Mint Julips.

My Thoughts:

I like these lip scubs, but I don’t like the price. What I like about these lip scrubs is that if you accidentally lick your lips or get some into your mouth while scrubbing, it’s okay. They are edible! Lick away! My favorite flavor is Mint Julips. It tastes like a York Peppermint Patty. Yum…minty chocolate! Sweet Lips also has a chocolate flavor, but it’s more of a cocoa flavor. The lip scrubs do a great job of exfoliating and softening my lips. The scrub doesn’t feel too rough or too soft. It’s just right. They all smell and taste really good too. The one thing I don’t like about the scrubs, besides the price, is the mess. It gets everywhere because the sugar crumbles. Be sure to clean up well because the scrub is made from sugar. I know everyone says I can make my own scrub because basically I bought sugar and oil; items that can be found in the kitchen. Truthfully, I can, but I won’t. I’m too lazy and I know I can never make it as yummy tasting as LUSH’s.

  • I totally agree, it’s too yummy and if I make one myself, I am not sure if I want to keep using it as much as the LUSH ones :) It is a little expensive though for a small pot of product. I haven’t tried the two other flavors that you like, I only have bubblegum since I’m a big snow fairy scent fan. I should get the other two later. I love how you can lick them off afterwards, like a little treat :p

  • Om nom nom I would probably use it as an excuse to eat it! :P Haus of Gloi have some nice sugar scrubs which I use on my lips every now and then (theyre a bit too gritty though, so I have to be gentle) and those taste surprisingly nice too

    Sounds like great flavors!

  • Mint Juleps sounds like something I would want to try! Too bad my Lush is so far away!

  • really need to try them out !!

  • I bought these for gifts this past Christmas and they were hits. It’s a little easier to spend the money on it for a gift than it is for me to spend it on myself.

  • ive been wanting to make my own lip scrub….
i would love to just have a homemade spa day with some girlfriends. def will have to experiment with some concoctions.

these are cute and sound yummy but I agree with you on the price. why are they so much for a lip scrub?? maybe someone will get me these as a gift..otherwise..I will have to pass!

  • I never saw the point in buying lip scrubs cuz I can always make a simple lip scrub at home.

Sugar + Olive Oil + Vaseline = affordable & convenient lip scrub & it works well.
