I get a lot of emails asking me what products I use for an everyday, daily look. Personally, I like to keep my makeup routine and look simple since I’m always pressed for time in the morning. I mainly focus on evening out my skin tone and defining features. Also, I like to use neutral, fool-proof colors.
Take a closer look at the makeup I use for my everyday look!
First off, let’s start off with my makeup bag:
I got this LeSportsac bag for Christmas from a friend, and I love it! It’s so roomy and yet so compact.
Fresh Twilight Freshface Glow is my favorite primer to use. It gives your face that healthy glow-from-within look without making you looking sparkly (a la Edward Cullen) or oily, greasy. It’s pricey, but a tube lasts me a year! Plus, it doubles as a highlighter!
Depending on the coverage I want, these are the 2 foundations I use. I use Shiseido Perfect Smoothing Compact Foundation for days I want medium coverage. I just love how smoothly and easily it glides on. You end up with the most beautiful, natural finish. For days when I want a light coverage, I use Benefit You Rebel tinted moisturizer. This tinted moisturizer is great for those days when you’re in hurry or just want to look natural.
I use 2 shades of concealer, because I like to mix my own shade since my skin color changes throughout the year. I found Make Up For Ever Full Cover concealer did the best job of covering up my dark circles and blemishes without settling into fine lines and getting cakey. It’s a pricey concealer, but a little truly goes a long way. I’ve been using it for over a year and have yet to make a dent.
To set the concealer and Benefit’s You Rebel tinted moisturizer, I use Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder. I love the finished look I get after using the powder. It gives my complexion a natural, flawless finish. The powder keeps my face oil and shine free for about 5-6 hours and helps makes my makeup long lasting. I like to use my trusty Lancome powder brush to apply the powder.
Since my eyelids are always oily, to help my eye makeup stay in the place I use Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer. Not only does it do a great job of keeping my eye makeup in place all day long, it acts as a light concealer too to even out my skin tone around my eye area.
My current 2 favorite eyeliners: Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (can you tell I’m running low) and Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner. I mostly use Urban Decay Glide-On Eye Pencil. For days I’m feeling a little fancy, I use Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner to do a winged liner look.
I know lots of people love the Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler, but my favorite is the Shiseido Eyelash Curler. It fits the shape of my eye perfectly, and I love how the Shiseido Eyelash Curler gives my lashes a natural curl and not a crimp or dent in my lashes.
I like to use 2 mascaras to achieve the long and voluminous lashes. The 2 I have been using the past year are the Kiss Me Heroine Mascaras: Long and Curl and Voluminous and Curl. These mascaras stay put and don’t come off until you remove it.
I know I have full brows, but I still like to fill them in to help give them a more defined look. My favorite brow product to use is ELF Eyebrow Kit in Ash. It also does a great job of filling in and keeping unruly brows in place. I don’t use the brush that is included in the kit. Instead, I use Anastasia Brow brush to apply.
No matter how many blushes I buy and use, I always come back to Maybelline Mineral Power Naturally Luminous Blush in Soft Mauve. It gives your cheeks a natural flush of color without looking overdone. I like to use Sephora’s Professional Blush Brush to apply blush. It’s the first brush I ever owned!
Besides lip balm, I love L’Oreal Colour Juice especially in Grape Soda. The purple tint gives my lips a rosy color which I love.
