Everybody has makeup stashed away somewhere that they say they sometime use or will use. This is just code for: I’ll use it when I figure out how to or I shouldn’t have bought it, but I’m too lazy to return. Been there. Done that. I’m sorry to say that probably by the time you decide to pull out the makeup you stashed away months ago or even years ago may not be any good anymore. So how long do you have before you have to chuck the mascara, foundation, eyeshadow, or nail polish?

Today’s lesson?
- Don’t hoard makeup
- Don’t buy 50 million backups of your favorite products
- Buy only what you will use
All this can be quite costly since the products will expire and/or go bad before you get to use it.
Now if only I can follow my own advice…

love these advices but it’s just so hard to toss the old products. i keep everything even though i don’t use them. time to do some clean ups. btw, out of curiosity, how long do you keep your makeup products?

i’m like you. i have a difficult time tossing out old products. i usually keep all my products unless they look or smell weird or don’t work well anymore.
well said at the end…now if i can only follow what i know :p
hehe same here
I guess I’ll have to start going through my makeup collection and cleaning it up :/
I generally knew about the other types of products, but didn’t know that nail polish expired so fast. I need to stop hoarding those then.. definitely wish they came in smaller sizes too. you think they’d last longer if I did the lipstick saving trick with the fridge?

hmmm…iono. someone should try, but i dont think it’ll work because it’ll make the nail polish thicker so it’ll be difficult to apply.
