Skin Care Products I Am Using

Share

Summer is here, and I had to change up my skin care products to adapt to the weather change. I had to add some salicylic acid products to my regime because I started to break out and get all oily (I thought I was passed this phase already. sigh). I also changed my daytime moisturizer to something lighter.

Find out more about the skin care products I use!

I know in the morning you’re suppose to wash your face with a cleanser. Don’t tell anyone, but I don’t. I just wash my face with water and a washcloth. Maybe that’s why I’m breaking out? After I wash my face, I apply Shiseido Pureness Matifying Moisturizer. I love this moisturizer for when my face is oily. It does an amazing job of keeping my face shine free for most of the day, and it’s so light.

What I like about Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion SPF 55 is it’s super light and matte. It doesn’t leave your face greasy, oily and it dries fast. The best part? You can wear it underneath makeup!

Softlips is one of my favorite lip balms to use. They are super slim and have SPF. My skin care pet peeve? Chapped sunburnt lips.

You’re probably sick of me mentioning Marie Louise, but I can’t help it! I love their Restoration Clear Gel! It is such a gentle exfoliant. You don’t need to add/use water prior to using it. No wetting your face. No water running down your arm. No mess.

I really have no preference when it comes to acne cleansers. As long as it doesn’t overly dry out my skin or irritate it, I’m happy.

Like I mentioned earlier, I hate chapped lips. Vaseline helps my lips stay soft and moisturized all night long.

At night, I use a heavier moisturizer to keep my skin from drying out during the night. To get the job done, I love to use Cetaphil. I only need a little dab to cover my face. This jar will probably last me a lifetime.

Lancome Bi-Facil is my favorite eye makeup remover. It is so gentle, but it some how removes even the most stubborn waterproof mascaras.

Pond’s Cold Cream oh how I love thee! It removes all types of makeup, even stubborn eye makeup!

After removing all my makeup, I like to use a toner to make sure all the makeup is gone. Since I’m breaking out, I like to use a toner with salicylic acid to help combat that problem.

What products are you using? Did you change any because of the change in seasons?

  • I used to use Cold Cream too, back in HS. Then I moved to cleansing oil but I think I am going to give it a try again this winter, since I did love it.

Anyway, what do you use as spot treatment for your acne? May I recommend Dermalogica Clean Start (review below), it is quite effective and gentle.

i tried cleansing oil once, and i didn’t like it very much. i didn’t like the oiliness of it. Although, i must admit, it worked wonders!

ooh! Vaseline and Cetaphil are both long time staples of mine! I even used to pot some Vaseline so I could bring it around with me. I have some kind of skin condition where certain parts of my face and body have to stay moisturized else I turn splotchy, red, and itchy. :( have to use a Rx cream too. augh.
anyway, I haven’t used Cetaphil cream, but I love their face wash in the morning. really gentle and I like the smell. also, Lancome Bi-Facil is a new find for me, omg! I kept getting annoyed from stains and removing waterproof makeup and it does wonders~ pretty expensive though.

Those are a lot of products! So heres the thing I think you should know about youre acne products; ultimately salicylic acid just supresses the acne it actually does not make it go away it just keeps it under the surface (trust me I know) on the other hand if you use products with benzoyl peroxide you will just exfoliate because although it could seem harsh at first in the long run it’s better.
The dermatologist once told me that oily skin is the best because it acts as it’s own moisturizer, meaning it takes longer to wrinkle.
The product that has worked for me time and time again is Acne Free facial exfolaiting wash just once a day otherwise the cataphil is fine.
Acne free really changed my face I don’t need toner or anything special I can eaven use amy makeup I want.
    Hugs-Wendy.
