Spring Time Looks 1: Bold Blue Eyes

The first look of the Spring Time Looks series is bold blue eyes. Teal is suppose to be the color of this coming Spring season so I wanted to play off that trend. Instead of bright teal, I chose a more darker shade so I could pair it with a bright lip color. Spring is all about bright, bold colors. Show off splashes of color.

Products I Used

Eyes:

  1. I took the tealish blue color and applied it to my eyelid. From lash line to the crease. Don’t have a crease? Just apply it up to your brow bone.
  2. I then took the dark blue and applied it to the outer corner of the eyes and blended it 1/3 way inwards. I also blended it into the crease/brow bone to help define the shape of my eye.
  • I lined my eyes with a navy blue eyeliner. I used Make Up Forever Aqua Eyes in 15L.

Valentine’s Day Makeup Look 2

The 2nd Valentine’s Day Makeup Look is a soft, romantic smoky eye. This look is perfect for people who are too timid or are not comfortable sporting a strong smoky look. It’s a mixture of mostly pink and purple with a dab of brown to add warmth. Perfect for Valentine’s Day!

To get this look, I used the Tarte Eye Couture Day to Night Eyeshadow Palatte.

1. Take a champagne color and apply it from your lash line all the up to your brows.

2. Take a light pink color and apply it from your lash line to your crease. Don’t have a crease? Apply it up to your brow bone.

3. Take a greyish purple and apply it to the outer corner of the eye.Next, apply a warm, brown color on top of the purple. Taking a blending brush, blend the purple and brown into the crease. Also, blend away any harsh lines between colors. It’s okay if the color ends up going past the crease. You want a little peak of color.

4. Take the champagne color and apply it to the inner corner of the eye. This will help brighten the eye area and not keep it so dark.

5. Line your eyes with black or a dark brown liner. Don’t forget your waterline.

6. Curl your lashes and layer on the mascara. False lashes optional.

Valentine’s Day Makeup Look 1

It’s February already! When February starts, Valentine’s Day is hot on its heels. The first look to kick off the Valentine’s Day Makeup Look series is Smoky Eyes. You can never go wrong with smokey eyes. However, this isn’t your typical black smoky eye. Instead, since it’s Valentine’s Day, you want to keep it a little soft and not so much hard, rocker chick.

To get this look, I used the Tarte Eye Couture Day to Night Eyeshadow Palatte.

1. Take a champagne color and apply it from your lash line all the up to your brows.

2. Take a light greyish purple color and apply it from your lash line to your crease. Don’t have a crease? Apply it up to your brow bone.

3. Take a shimmery black color and apply it to the outer corner of the eye. Taking a blending brush, blend the black into the crease. Also, blend away any harsh lines between colors. It’s okay if the color ends up going past the crease. You want a little peak of color.

4. Take the champagne color and apply it to the inner corner of the eye. This will help brighten the eye area and not keep it so dark.

5. Line your eyes with black liner. Don’t forget your waterline.

6. Curl your lashes and layer on the mascara. False lashes optional.

Holiday Party Look #1

Last Wednesday was the first of a gazillion holiday parties to attend. What look did I sport? Check out the picture below to see…

img_8360

Pretty Pink Lips! I wanted to keep it light because it was a work party. Even though it was a work party, I wanted to a little bit of oomph so I lined my eyes with a black eyeliner and smudged it for a bit of a rocker look. Also, notice anything different about me? Probably not since you guys don’t know me that well. Haha. New haircut! I got bangs!

Here are the list of products I used (and in the order I used them) if you want to replicate this look:

  1. Eucerin Everyday Protection Face Lotion SPF 30
  2. Fresh Twilight Freshface Glow as a primer
  3. Shiseido Perfect Smoothing Foundation SPF 15 in O60
  4. Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer in 6 and 8 ( I mixed the 2 shades together)
  5. Benefit Moon Beam (bridge of nose, cheek bones, and bow of upper lip)
  6. Urban Decay Afterglow Blush in Fetish
  7. Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer

Holiday Makeup Look 5: Pretty Pink Lips

pretty-pink-lips

If you don’t like to wear a whole lot of makeup but still want to spruce up your look without piling on makeup for the holidays, try sporting pretty pink lips. It’s not bold and in-your-face as red lips but rather fun and flirty. Pick a fuchsia or magenta colored lip color for boldness or a pale rosy pink lip color for a subtle feel. Either way, have fun with it and don’t be afraid to try a lip color you normally don’t wear. Who knows, it might end up being your favorite.

This look is very similar to Holiday Makeup Look 1: Classy Red Lips. Just follow those same steps to get this Pretty Pink Lips look.

Holiday Makeup Look 3: Vampire Inspired

holiday-makeup-look-vampire-inspired

The Holiday Makeup Looks Series wouldn’t be complete without a dark, romantic look. If you’re not into all the glitter and sparkles that comes with the holidays then this look is for you. I was inspired by Kristen Stewart’s look in the December issue of Harper’s Bazaar. You know, the one with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart on the cover? I’m sure you do.

When I got my issue in the mail, I just fell in love with Robert’s and Kristen’s photos. It was beautifully done. What caught my attention the most was Kristen Stewart’s makeup. It was very vampire esq: dark and mysterious yet alluring.

The key to making this look more vampy than trampy is you have to keep the smoky eye soft and the red lipcolor not so bright and vibrant. You don’t want your eye makeup competing with your lipcolor.

Products I Used:

  • Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer
  • NYX Eyeshadow in 01 Black
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Gash
  • Urban Decay Lipstick in Gash

Holiday Makeup Look 2: Shimmery Gold Eyeshadow

The holiday season wouldn’t be complete without shimmery eyes. My personal favorite is shimmery gold eyeshadow. Shimmery gold eyeshadow will help bring warmth and attention to your face without being overpowering. Also, shimmery gold eyeshadow is flattering on every skintone.

This is actually a redo of the How To Wear Gold Eyeshadow Tutorial. So if you want to know how to duplicate the look or what products I used, just check out the tutorial.

Halloween Makeup Looks

This past Halloween I was asked to apply makeup to several beautiful girls for the Halloween party they were attending. They all were so nice and easy to work with! Did you know they made their own costumes? Creative and beautiful! Here are their finished looks.

Click on each picture for a larger view.

Fairy

fairy-makeup fairy-makeup-eyes-2

I decided to use the colors from her garden fairy costume as a guide for the colors I would use for her face. Since fairies usually are known for shimmer and glitter, I first started off by applying a shimmering primer, Fresh Twilight Freshface Glow. This helped give her a face a glow. Next, I evened out her skintone by using Shiseido Perfect Smoothing Foundation SPF 15. To prep her eyes, I applied Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer. (Note: All the eyeshadow I applied are all shimmery eyeshadows from Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette.) I then applied a light green shadow all over eyelid and up to her brows. Next, I applied a lime green shadow to the inner half of her eyelid and blended the color upwards to her brows. To the outer half of her eyes, I applied a dark green shadow and blended it towards the lime green shadow. I blended the dark green shadow  upwards to her brows and out past the outer corner of her eyes.  To help brighten her eyes, I applied a yellow shadow to the inner corners of her eyes and blended it into the lime green shadow. After applying the eyeshadow, I applied eyeliner using Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero to her bottom lash line and water line. To the top lash line, I drew a thick winged liner look using Urban Decay Liquid Liner in Oil Slick. I curled her lashes and applied one coat of Maybelline The Colossal Volum’ Express Mascara in Black. I then applied Ardell False Eyelashes. After the lash glue dried, I applied 2 more coats of mascara to give her lashes even more volume. To her cheeks, I applied Urban Decay Afterglow Blush in Score. To help give her face even more shimmer and glow, I applied Benefit Moon Beam down her T-zone and to her cheeks. To finish off her look, I lined and colored in her lips using Clinique Quickliner for Lips in Bamboo and then applied Clinique Different Lipstick in A Different Grape. Lastly, I applied MAC Dazzleglass in Baby Sparks from MAC Magic, Mirth, and Mischief Put a Spell On You Pink Lip Bag.

Cat

cat-eye-makeup cat-eye-makeup-eyes-1

I wanted to do a smoky eye look, but not your typical black/gray smoky eye. Instead, I played off her black and green cat ears and did a green smoky eye. I first started off by applying a shimmering primer, Fresh Twilight Freshface Glow. This helped give her a face a glow. Next, I evened out her skintone by using Shiseido Perfect Smoothing Foundation SPF 15. To prep her eyes, I applied Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer. I then used a dark shimmery green shadow from Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette to apply it to her lids and a little bit past her crease. Next, I took a matte black shadow from the Coastal Scents 88 Eyeshadow Palette and applied it to the outer corners of her eyes. I blended the black shadow halfway inwards and into her crease. I also blended the black shadow out past her outer corners of her eyes. I then took a shimmery cream colored shadow from Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette and applied to her brow bone and blended it downwards to her crease and into her inner eye corners. I then took the same dark shimmery green shadow and went over the eyeliner. This helped take away the harshness of the black and allowed it to blend more with the green smoky eye. I curled her lashes and applied one coat of Maybelline The Colossal Volum’ Express Mascara in Black. I then applied Revlon Fantasy Lengths Maximum Wear Lashes. After the lash glue dried, I applied 2 more coats of mascara to give her lashes even more volume. To her cheeks, I applied Urban Decay Afterglow Blush in Score. To help give her face some shimmer and glow, I applied Benefit Moon Beam down her T-zone and to her cheeks. To her lips I applied Revlon Matte Lipstick in Nude Attitude and went over it with Covergirl Wetslicks Lipgloss in Patently Pink.

Ariel

ariel-face-makeup ariel-side-view

When you think of Ariel, you think of her vibrant red hair. I didn’t want to take the attention away from her famous hair color so I kept her makeup soft and natural. I applied a cream colored shimmer shadow from Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette all over her lid up to her brows. This help brightened her eyes and make them appear larger. To define the shape of her eyes, I lined her top and bottom lash line with Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero. I curled her lashes and applied one coat of Maybelline The Colossal Volum’ Express Mascara in Black. I then applied Revlon Fantasy Lengths Maximum Wear Lashes. After the lash glue dried, I applied 1 more coat of mascara to help blend her real lashes and false lashes. To her cheeks, I applied a rosy colored blush. I used, Maybelline Mineral Powder Naturally Luminous Blush in Soft Mauve. To help give her face some shimmer and glow, I applied Benefit Moon Beam down her T-zone and to her cheeks. I wanted her lips to have a bit of redness, but I didn’t want the red to be a vibrant red. So I applied Revlon Matte Lipstick in Nude Attitude and on top I applied Clinique Long Last Glosswear in Juicy Apple.

Princess Jasmine

princess-jasmine-face-makeup princess-jasmine-makeup-eyes

Princess Jasmine has an exotic look. Her eyes are big and exaggerated. I wanted the main focus to be her eyes. To give her a warm smoky eye, I used the Coastal Scents 88 Warm Eyeshadow Palatte. I took a matte taupe brown shadow and applied to all over her lid and a little bit past her crease. I then took a matte dark brown shadow and applied it to her outer eye corner and blended it halfway inwards towards her inner eye corner. I then took a shimmery cream colored shadow and applied it to her brow bone and inner eye corner to highlight them. After applying the eyeshadow, I applied eyeliner using Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero to her bottom lash line and water line. To the top lash line, I drew a winged liner look using Urban Decay Liquid Liner in Oil Slick making sure to extend the line way past her outer lash line.I curled her lashes and applied one coat of Maybelline The Colossal Volum’ Express Mascara in Black. I then applied Revlon Fantasy Lengths Maximum Wear Lashes. After the lash glue dried, I applied 3 more coats of mascara to give her lashes lots of volume. Jasmine has dark eyebrows so I filled in her brows using Benefit Brow Zings in Light. To her cheeks, I applied a rosy colored blush. I used, Maybelline Mineral Powder Naturally Luminous Blush in Soft Mauve. Since Princess Jasmine has a bit of a tanned complexion, I used Urban Decay Baked Bronzer in Toasted. To help give her face some shimmer and glow, I applied Benefit Moon Beam down her T-zone and to her cheeks. I lined and colored in her lips using Clinique Quickliner for Lips in Bamboo and on top I applied Clinique Long Last Glosswear in Juicy Apple.

Lilo

Lilo is a young girl, so it was important to keep the makeup light and natural. To prep her eyes, I applied Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer. I applied a shimmery light brown shadow all over her eyelid and up to her brows. This helps bring color to her eyes. I then lightly lined her eyes with Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero just to her top lash line. To frame her face, I darkened and filled in her brows using Benefit Brow Zings in Light. I then applied a rosy colored blush. I used, Maybelline Mineral Powder Naturally Luminous Blush in Soft Mauve.

Snow White

snow-white-face-makeup snow-white-makeup-eyes

Snow White is known for her snow white skin and ruby, red lips. Since the main focus are her lips, I didn’t want to apply dark eyeshadows. I first started off by applying a shimmering primer, Fresh Twilight Freshface Glow. This helped give her a face a glow.  Next, I evened out her skintone by using Fresh Twilight Freshface Glow. To finish off the look, I applied Clinique Long Last Glosswear in Juicy Apple.

Cinderella

Cinderella wears a gorgeous extravagent dress. I didn’t want to steal the attention away from the dress so I kept her makeup light and minimal. I first started off by applying a shimmering primer, Fresh Twilight Freshface Glow. This helped give her a face a glow. Next, I evened out her skintone by using Fresh Twilight Freshface Glow. I took a matte taupe brown shadow and applied to all over her lid and a little bit past her crease. I then blended the shadow upwards towards her brows to soften it up. To the top lash line, I drew a winged liner look using Urban Decay Liquid Liner in Oil Slick. I curled her lashes and applied one coat of Maybelline The Colossal Volum’ Express Mascara in Black. I then applied Revlon Fantasy Lengths Maximum Wear Lashes.
