Loreal Double Extend Mascara ($10.95) I noticed a lot of length when I used Double Extend Mascara. However, it was so drying it caused major flaking. I also noticed a bit of a spidery leg effect. Removing the mascara was rather difficult and messy which proves how great the lasting power is. I wouldn’t buy this again because I prefer volume over length. I also don’t like dry lashes.
Loreal Telescopic Mascara ($10.59) I thought Loreal Telescopic Mascara was an okay mascara when I used it on its own. I noticed some lenghtening and volumizing, but nothing for me to rave about. When I used the Telescopic mascara with a voluminizing mascara (Maybelline Colossal Volum’ Express Mascara), holy cow the results! It made my lashes look so doll-like and fake. Fake in a good way. I discovered the best way to apply Telescopic mascara is not to zig-zag/wiggle the brush when applying it. That will just cause clumping. Instead, just apply the mascara normally minus the zig-zag/wiggle motion. Also, don’t let the mascara dry before applying another coat. Apply extra coats while it is still wet.
Loreal Voluminous Mascara ($7.25) L’oreal Voluminous mascara sure does live up to its name. It delivered full, voluminous lashes. It lenghtens very little, which is fine by me because this is a volumizing mascara. The one thing I didn’t like about this mascara is when you pull out the wand and there is just so much product on the bristles. You not only have to wipe off the product at the tip of the wand, but you have to wipe off the excess on the bristles also. I didn’t experience any smudging or flaking. I got clumps when I applied one too many coats. Overall, a really good voluminous mascara.
Loreal Bare Naturale Mascara ($9.95) This is a perfect everyday mascara. It provides great length, but not over-the-top, and separation. The mascara isn’t over drying and doesn’t make your lashes brittle. I didn’t encounter any clumping when I applied more than one coat. However, I wouldn’t recommend layering on more layers after the mascara has dried. That is when you will get clumps. Besides no clumps, the mascara doesn’t flake or smudge. If I did get smudging, it was very minimal and barely noticeable. Even though it does provide dramatic lashes, it does what it says and that’s give natural looking lashes.
Loreal Extra Volume Collagen Mascara ($7.99) This Extra Volume Mascara by L’oreal which contains Hydra Collagen creates up to 12x more volume with no clumps, extra volume brush is twice as thick as traditional brushes.
I was meandering around the cosmetics section at Target when the display for the Loreal Extra Volume Collagen Mascara caught my attention. Eva Longoria (pictured above) is featured in the advertisement for the Loreal Extra Volume Collagen Mascara. I know it’s unrealistic to expect a mascara to give me the kind of volume Eva is sporting in the ad, because no mascara can accomplish that much volume without the help of false eyelashes. But still, I was hoping for some volume from the mascara. Did the mascara deliver? Sadly, no. This mascara has a wet formula and clumped a little bit as a result, but nothing a mascara comb can’t fix. The mascara brush is a little bit too big for my liking. It makes it difficult to reach the inner corners of my eye. I wouldn’t buy this again because I think there are better voluminizing mascaras out there.
