Maybelline Cover Stick Corrector Concealer Review

Why You’ll Love It

Excellent coverage in an easy-to-manage stick.

  • Completely conceals blemishes, dark circles and other imperfections
  • Waterproof
  • Can be worn alone or under foundation
  • Color Correctors: yellow corrects dark circles, green corrects redness

My Thoughts:

The Maybelline Cover Stick Corrector Concealer is not bad, but it’s not great. It lasts all day which is wonderful! However, it is drying. It isn’t super creamy, but it is easy to blend. The corrector is perfect to cover small blemishes, but not under eye circles. I think it’s too dry for that. If you can find a shade that matches you, I say give it a try. A little warning: the color selection is very limited.

Maybelline Cool Effect Cooling Shadow Liner Review

maybelline-cool-effect-cooling-shadow-liner Maybelline Cool Effect Cooling Shadow Liner ($5.99)

Why You’ll Love It

This eye shadow and liner cools as it colors. Bold and defining formula is enriched with aloe, cucumber and glycerin.

My Thoughts:

This was actually one of the very first Maybelline products I ever bought. In fact, it was one of the very first makeup products I ever bought. The pencil is really fat, so if you’re hoping to using it as an eyeliner, good luck. You can use it as an eyeliner, but you’re just going to end up with an extremely thick line. I used this as an eye shadow. I would apply it over my eyelid and then blend it outward. It goes on very soft with very minimal tugging.  If I am going to use this shadow liner as an eyeliner, I only use it to line my  lower lash line. It’s perfect for that smudgy smoky eye look. As long as I use this with some sort of base or primer, it stays put. Definitely give this a try, you may end up liking it.

Maybelline Sky High Curves Mascara Review

maybellline-sky-high-curves-mascara Maybelline Sky High Curves Mascara ($6.79)

Why You’ll Love It

This lengthening and curling mascara sets lashes to a daring 30-degree curve.

  • No clumps, no globs
  • Contact lens safe and hypoallergenic
  • Washable; also available in waterproof formula

My Thoughts:

Maybelline Sky High Curves is an okay mascara. It does hold a curl, but it didn’t give me the amount of length I was hoping for. It’s great for a daytime mascara. There were no clumps or over drying of lashes. There was a tad bit of smudging at the end of the day, but it was nothing to freak out over. Sky High Curves just isn’t a wow! mascara for me. I heard Maybelline is discontinuing this mascara, so if you love it you better stock up befor it’s gone….

Maybelline Great Lash Big Review

maybelline-great-lash-big Maybelline Great Lash Big ($5.99)

Why You’ll Love It

Live Big! Great Lash Big™ has a Bigger Brush for Great Big Live-It-Up Lashes!

  • The Great Big Brush provides a bigger, bolder lash effect
  • Great buildable formula still conditions as it thickens with even greater intensity
  • No clumps or globs

My Thoughts:

I would have to say Maybelline Great Lash Big is a big improvement over the original Maybelline Great Lash. Like the original, Great Lash Big has a wet formula. The big difference between the two mascaras is smudging. The original smudged like crazy! Major raccoon eyes. Great Lash Big on the other hand, did not smudge at all. If there was smudging, it was very minimal. The mascara does provide volume, but you have to apply a few coats. After all, it is a buildable formula. You’re going to have to apply multiple coats until you achieve the volume you desire. You would think with all that layering you would experience flaking or clumping. Nope. I experienced no flaking or clumping. This is great to always keep in your bag as a backup to your HG mascara or this could be your HG mascara.

Maybelline Pure Makeup Review

maybelline-pure-makeup Maybelline Pure Makeup ($5.99)

Why You’ll Love It

This shine-free foundation with H2O is formulated with 50% water instead of pore-clogging oils that can cause breakouts.

My Thoughts:

I am not a fan of this foundation. It really doesn’t provide any coverage at all. It is sort of like a tinted moisturizer, except you need to apply moisturizer before you apply Maybelline Pure Makeup. Besides the lack of coverage, it also lacks staying power. By midday, the foundation had disappeared. For longer staying power, I would apply a finish powdering after apply the foundation. Even then, it still didn’t last. If you’re looking for sheer coverage this could be for you.
