Crown 15 Piece Professional Set With Designer Case ($43.99)

Set Includes:

Angle Blender • Oval Shadow • Blending Fluff • Flat Liner

Concealer • Lash Fan • Brow/Lash Groomer • Angle Liner

Oval Lip • Mini Smudger • Round Crease • Faux Reptile Case

My Thoughts:

I’ve heard about how great Crown brushes were and how they were a great replacement for MAC brushes so I decided to purchase some when the 15 Piece Professional Set With Designer Case was on sale for $29.99 (included cost of shipping).

There are 3 different designs for the 15 Piece Professional Set With Designer Case: (1) Set 619: black case with red handles and black ferrules, (2) Set 620: red case with black handles and black ferrules, or (3) Set 621: bronze case with black handles and bronze ferrules.  I have Set 621. The clutch is made of a faux reptile material with velvet interior lining.

What I like about Crown 15 Piece Professional Set With Designer Case is that it’s a clutch case and not a rolled up case. It’s a good change from your usual rolled up case. The brushes are all very soft and held their shape after each washing. I also love the cost of each brush. After doing the math, each brush cost less than $3 if you buy at the $43.99 price.

What I don’t like about the Crown 15 Piece Professional Set With Designer Case is the strong unpleasant smell I was hit with when I first opened the clutch. It does disappear over time after airing it out, but it took awhile. I also didn’t like how a couple of the brushes shed so much. I do understand brushes shed, but do they have to shed so much every time you use and wash them? My face was covered with hairs. Also noticed a few of the brushes weren’t  as soft as they originally were prior to washing, but they were still soft.

Overall, I’m a tad bit on the fence about repurchasing this set. I just expected more from a “professional” brush set. I’ll probably purchase individual brushes to compare the quality to the brush set.

Anastasia Classic Stencils Review

Anastasia Classic Stencils ($20) This one-of-a-kind set of stencils are available in five shapes to suit any face shape:
Petite Arch- Recommended for small facial features.
Slim High Arch- Recommended for brows in training, growth challenged, thin or sparse brows.
Medium Arch- Recommended for brows with a softer arch that naturally creates less space between the bottom of the brow and the top of the eye.
High Arch- Recommended for brows with a higher arch that naturally creates more space between the bottom of the brow and the top of the eye.
Full Arch – Recommended for the fullest shape and larger facial features.

My Thoughts:

I’ve been eying these stencils for several months and couldn’t decide if I truly needed them. I talked myself into getting them by saying instead of getting my eyebrows professional shaped every several weeks, now I can shape them myself with the stencils and save money! After trying to use the stencils a few times, I really don’t they are worth getting. I had a difficult time finding a stencil that matched the shape of my brows. The stencils were either too thin, too long, arched too much, or just plain ugh. I’m better off shaping and coloring in my brows free hand. Plus, I don’t think the stencils will work with every eye and face shape. If I were you, I would try them out in-store before purchasing and make sure they work for you. Don’t be like me and purchase online on a whim thinking it’ll work. Chances are, the stencils won’t.

Tweezerman Point Tweezer Review

Tweezerman Point Tweezer ($22)

My Thoughts:

I don’t use this to tweeze my brows. It tends to break the hair instead of pulling it out.  However, the pointed tip is perfect for grabbing onto the teeniest, tiniest hairs. Be careful though because the tips can bend. But have no fear! Tweezerman will fix it for $5 and they will sharpen it for free. I actually prefer the Tweezerman’s Slant Tip tweezers over the pointed tip for tweezing brows. I mostly use the pointed to get rid of ingrown hairs and splinters.

Tweezerman Tweezer Slant Tip Review

Tweezerman Tweezer Slant Tip ($20)

My Thoughts:

Honestly, the idea of spending $20 on a pair of tweezers is quite ridiculous to me. However, Tweezerman Tweezers are the exception. There is a reason why everybody goes crazy over them and fork over $20. They simply are the best. The tweezers have a good grip and are not super sharp. They can grab the small, tiny hairs with accuracy, precision, and ease. Besides the awesome performance, there is a lifetime of free sharpening. When the tweezers get dull, just send them in and they will sharpen them for you for free! Plus there is an array of colors and designs to choose from! Tweezerman Tweezers absolutely live up to the hype and are totally worth it. You will never have to or want to buy a different another pair of tweezers again.
