Clarisonic Mia ($149) Mia™ Sonic Skin Cleansing System
What it is:
A travel-friendly, professional-quality skincare brush.
What it does:
From the creators of the Sonicare® toothbrush comes the Clarisonic® Mia set, featuring the handy to-go sized version of the original, groundbreaking Clarisonic Brush. Sonic technology first changed the way we clean our teeth, now it’s changing how we cleanse our skin. The sonic frequency moves Clarisonic’s soft, gentle brush back and forth at more than 300 times per second, thoroughly clearing pores and skin surface.
Here are some of the benefits this revolutionary skincare tool delivers:
- Removes makeup six times better than traditional methods.
- Clears pores and reduces the appearance of pore size.
- Cleanses so thoroughly that skincare products absorb better.
- Creates noticeably healthier looking skin.
Finally, the long awaited Clarisonic Mia review has arrived. I picked up the Clarisonic Mia from Sephora. The one I got (Clarisonic Mia™ Limited Edition Sonic Skin Cleansing System – White ($184 Value) – Mia Limited Edition Sonic Skin Cleansing System – White) is pictured above. It came with the Clarisonic Mia handle, 2 brush heads (sensitive and normal), an International pLink™ charger for worldwide use, 1.0 oz Gentle Hydro Cleanser, and a white mesh travel bag. Normally, the Clarisonic Mia doesn’t with an extra brush head and the white mesh travel bag.
The Clarisonic Mia is very easy to use. All you do is push a button and it turns on and stays on for 1 minute. There is only 1 speed. It doesn’t come with a timer for you to know when to move to a different part of your face. Although, I’m pretty sure you can count to twenty and switch to a different area. You can use it for 20 minutes on a full charge before having to recharge it. It does take a really time to recharge so I usually recharge it through the night.
I have been using/testing out the Clarisonic Mia for over 3 months. After using it everyday for the first month, I noticed a great change in my complexion. My skin looked brighter and felt amazingly soft. I didn’t notice a decrease in pore size. However, I did notice the reduced number of breakouts on my chin and the number of blackheads around my nose. I also noticed I didn’t get the normal patch of dry skin around my nose like I always do when winter is about to start.
After I used it for a month, I stopped. I wanted to make sure the wonderful results I was seeing was truly because of the Clarisonic Mia. After all, it is quite expensive and I wanted to make sure keeping it wasn’t money down the drain. During that month of not using the Clarisonic Mia, I noticed the dullness returned and my complexion wasn’t so healthy, bright anymore. I also noticed the breakouts I normally have on my chin returned and so did the blackheads. How about the dry skin around my nose I usually get during winter? Yup, that returned too.
Upon this comparison, I started using the Clarisonic Mia again and the awesome results have returned. I know the Clarisonic Mia is expensive, and I was hesitant to purchase it because of the hefty price tag. What made me bite the bullet was all the great reviews I read and an honest opinion from Lulu, who I knew had already purchased one. It also doesn’t hurt that I purchased this during Sephora’s Friends and Family Sale so I actually got it cheaper.
I don’t think the Clarisonic Mia is a miracle worker. It isn’t going to solve all skin problems, but I do think it will help improve you skin’s appearance. Overall, I feel this isn’t a necessity to have, but rather a convenience. It has saved me a lot of time and effort and I don’t regret purchasing it at all.
