Snowberry Nourishing Exfoliator Review

Snowberry Nourishing Exfoliator ($18) In Snowberry’s Nourishing Exfoliator, you experience a special combination of exotic oils, functional herbal extracts, Jojoba, precious gems, cultured coral and pearl, to safely remove dead skin tissue and leave the skin feeling smooth and alive. By not using typical polyethylene beads, or chemical peel, Snowberry’s Exfoliator is kinder to your face and the environment too.

My Thoughts:

The Snowberry Nourishing Exfoliator is a light tan/beige colored cream exfoliator. I love that there are no beads or some kind of grain. I hate when exfoliators have that because it almost ends up being too rough or totally useless. Because there are no beads or grain, it’s very gentle. It’ll work for all skin types. I also like that the exfoliator doesn’t leave your face feeling dry and tight. Instead, it left my skin feeling really moisturized and smooth. The Snowberry Nourishing Exfoliator didn’t irritate my face or leave it looking red. Even though I really like the exfoliator, I’m not sure it would be a repurchase item for me because I’ve used other gentle exfoliators just like the Snowberry Nourishing Exfoliator that work just as well but cost less.

LUSH Lip Scrub Review

LUSH Lip Scrub ($8.95)

Sweet Lips: Sweet Lips is the lip scrub for chocolate fanatics. It smells like a bar of creamy milk chocolate. Vanilla extract keeps your lips moisturized, castor sugar gently exfoliates, and the rich, deep fragrance of cocoa absolute gives this an irresistible flavour. It’s meant for exfoliating and softening your lips, but it’s rather tasty too. Rub it over your lips when they’re feeling the need for some chocolate and sugar.

Bubble Gum: This one will make your lips smell like our seasonal, best-selling Snow Fairy shower gel. Bubblegum Lip Scrub is made with exfoliating castor sugar and our delicious vegan flavour to gently scrub away rough skin, keeping your lips smooth and kissably soft. Simply rub it over your lips when you’re feeling the need for some sugar.

Mint Julips: When you use Mint Julips, you’ll find yourself craving a bowl of mint-chocolate chip ice cream. It’s made with invigorating peppermint oil, which will make your lips feel fresh and tingly, along with sweet vanilla extract to lock in moisture and protect your lips. Simply rub it over your lips when you’re feeling the desire for some fresh Mint Julips.

My Thoughts:

I like these lip scubs, but I don’t like the price. What I like about these lip scrubs is that if you accidentally lick your lips or get some into your mouth while scrubbing, it’s okay. They are edible! Lick away! My favorite flavor is Mint Julips. It tastes like a York Peppermint Patty. Yum…minty chocolate! Sweet Lips also has a chocolate flavor, but it’s more of a cocoa flavor. The lip scrubs do a great job of exfoliating and softening my lips. The scrub doesn’t feel too rough or too soft. It’s just right. They all smell and taste really good too. The one thing I don’t like about the scrubs, besides the price, is the mess. It gets everywhere because the sugar crumbles. Be sure to clean up well because the scrub is made from sugar. I know everyone says I can make my own scrub because basically I bought sugar and oil; items that can be found in the kitchen. Truthfully, I can, but I won’t. I’m too lazy and I know I can never make it as yummy tasting as LUSH’s.

Marie Louise Restoration Clear Gel Review

marie-louise-restoration-clear-gel Marie Louise Restoration Clear Gel ($51) Our hydrating exfoliating gel is our star product that is designed to gently whisk away dead skin cells to help promote skin regeneration. The smooth, finely textured gel absorbs and carries away dirt, impurities, and dead skin cells to leave skin flawless and pure. Promote skin regeneration like never-before and witness a whole new you with radiant, silky skin.

My Thoughts:

I really, really, really like this exfoliating gel. In fact, I want to say one of my favorite exfoliants. There are no micobeads or little grains to irritate and scratch your skin or get into your eyes (painful and a pain to get out!). It’s just a clear gel.  As I rubbed this onto my face, the gel started to feel grainy. I know what you’re thinking. How is that possible? Didn’t you just say there were no micobeads or little grains? Yes, yes I did. It’s actually the gel absorbing all the dirt and dead skin cells. So that grainy feeling I was feeling when I was rubbing the product onto my face was actually all the dirt and dead skin cells being removed!

Another good thing about  the Restoration Clear Gel is that you don’t need to add/use water prior to using it. No wetting your face. No water running down your arm. No mess. It actually works better on a dry face.

The best part of using the Restoration Gel is the feel of your skin after you exfoliate. Unlike most exfoliants, it doesn’t leave your skin dry and tight. Instead, my skin felt moisturized, smooth, and soft. I couldn’t stop touching my face! As the weeks went on, I noticed my face had a brighter, more even toned complexion.

Clarisonic Mia Review

clarisonic-mia-with-mesh-bag Clarisonic  Mia ($149) Mia™ Sonic Skin Cleansing System
What it is:
A travel-friendly, professional-quality skincare brush.

What it does:
From the creators of the Sonicare® toothbrush comes the Clarisonic® Mia set, featuring the handy to-go sized version of the original, groundbreaking Clarisonic Brush. Sonic technology first changed the way we clean our teeth, now it’s changing how we cleanse our skin. The sonic frequency moves Clarisonic’s soft, gentle brush back and forth at more than 300 times per second, thoroughly clearing pores and skin surface.

Here are some of the benefits this revolutionary skincare tool delivers:
- Removes makeup six times better than traditional methods.
- Clears pores and reduces the appearance of pore size.
- Cleanses so thoroughly that skincare products absorb better.
- Creates noticeably healthier looking skin.

My Thoughts:

Finally, the long awaited Clarisonic Mia review has arrived. I picked up the Clarisonic Mia from Sephora. The one I got (Clarisonic Mia™ Limited Edition Sonic Skin Cleansing System – White ($184 Value) – Mia Limited Edition Sonic Skin Cleansing System – White) is pictured above. It came with the Clarisonic Mia handle, 2 brush heads (sensitive and normal), an International pLink™ charger for worldwide use,  1.0 oz Gentle Hydro Cleanser, and a white mesh travel bag. Normally, the Clarisonic Mia doesn’t with an extra brush head and the white mesh travel bag.

The Clarisonic Mia is very easy to use. All you do is push a button and it turns on and stays on for 1 minute. There is only 1 speed. It doesn’t come with a timer for you to know when to move to a different part of your face. Although, I’m pretty sure you can count to twenty and switch to a different area. You can use it for 20 minutes on a full charge before having to recharge it. It does take a really time to recharge so I usually recharge it through the night.

I have been using/testing out the Clarisonic Mia for over 3 months. After using it everyday for the first month, I noticed a great change in my complexion. My skin looked brighter and felt amazingly soft. I didn’t notice a decrease in pore size. However, I did notice the reduced number of breakouts on my chin and the number of blackheads around my nose. I also noticed I didn’t get the normal patch of dry skin around my nose like I always do when winter is about to start.

After I used it for a month, I stopped. I wanted to make sure the wonderful results I was seeing was truly because of the Clarisonic Mia.  After all, it is quite expensive and I wanted to make sure keeping it wasn’t money down the drain. During that month of not using the Clarisonic Mia, I noticed the dullness returned and my complexion wasn’t so healthy, bright anymore. I also noticed the breakouts I normally have on my chin returned and so did the blackheads. How about the dry skin around my nose I usually get during winter? Yup, that returned too.

Upon this comparison, I started using the Clarisonic Mia again and the awesome results have returned. I know the Clarisonic Mia is expensive, and I was hesitant to purchase it because of the hefty price tag. What made me bite the bullet was all the great reviews I read and an honest opinion from Lulu, who I knew had already purchased one. It also doesn’t hurt that I purchased this during Sephora’s Friends and Family Sale so I actually got it cheaper.

I don’t think the Clarisonic Mia is a miracle worker. It isn’t going to solve all skin problems, but I do think it will help improve you skin’s appearance. Overall, I feel this isn’t a necessity to have, but rather a convenience. It has saved me a lot of time and effort and I don’t regret purchasing it at all.
