Cellnique Advanced Bio Renewal Masque ($51) This unparalleled scrub masque is formulated with bio-captured fresh fruit enzymes and acids complex. It works effectively in exfoliating dead cells, optimizing cellular renewal performance and deep pore cleansing, thus revealing a softer, fresher and healthier skin.
Cellnique Derma Brightening Complex ($45) Formulated with liposamal Willow Bark Extract and Vitamin C, this strongly-effective yet gentle formulation works excellent on skin discoloration, dull and uneven skin tone, restores skin’s luminous glow without provoking any skin irritation or peeling. Unprecedented clarity radiates from within.
Cellnique’s Advanced Bio Renewal Masque is a clay mask with tiny, little grains. The tiny, little grains don’t scratch your face or leave your face feeling raw. The masque itself has a fresh yogurt-like smell with a slight hint of soy sauce. It’s a strange smell, but it’s not very strong. You only smell it when you’re applying the masque. When you apply the masque, the rubbing you do allows the grains to exfoliate your skin. The grains also exfoliate your skin when you wash off the masque. I left the masque on for about 15 minutes. During those 15 minutes, I could feel a tingling. It wasn’t bothersome or irritating, just noticeable. While waiting for the masque to dry, it didn’t dry to the point where you couldn’t move your face. Washing the masque off was very easy. All I needed was a wash cloth and water. The masque helped my skin look more even toned and not so blotchy. Also, it left my face feeling super soft and smooth. You only need to use the masque at night a couple times a week.
After using Cellnique’s Advanced Bio Renewal Masque, I would apply Cellnique Derma Brightening Complex. I used Cellnique Derma Brightening Complex every day, in the morning and at night. Even though the Derma Brightening Complex looks oily, it’s not. There was no irritation or unpleasant smell. I may have imagined this, but to me it had a vanilla/bakery scent. After you apply the Derma Brightening Complex, it leaves a sticky/tacky feeling while it is being absorbed into your skin. After it is absorbed (takes a minute or two), the sticky/tacky feeling disappears. A little advice: wait for the serum to fully absorb before applying makeup. If you don’t, the serum will cling to the makeup and cause the makeup to ball up. Cellnique Derma Brightening Complex helped my face look brighter and more awake. It also made my face feel very soft and smooth. This may be because my face is on the oily side, but I didn’t need to follow up with a moisturizer since Cellnique Derma Brightening Complex provided enough moisture. I also noticed my face was less oily too.
Overall, I really liked Cellnique’s Advanced Bio Renewal Masque and Derma Brightening Complex, minus the smell of the masque. It did everything it was suppose to do. It helped even out and brighten my skin tone, fade acne scars and dark spots, and left my face feeling soft and smooth. I just wish the price wasn’t so high.

Silk Oil Blotting Paper ($1.50 for 100 sheets)
First off, you can find the Silk Oil Blotting Paper at Daiso (a Japanese store). My favorite thing about these blotting papers, besides the pink color, is that it’s huge! It’s probably the biggest blotting paper/sheet I have ever used. It measures about 3.5 inches (7.5 cm) all around. When the blotting paper absorbs the oil, it changes from a light pink color to an even lighter pink, whitish transparent color. It’s a bit difficult to see the color change, but it’s noticeable. I love how easily the paper dispenses from the packaging. It dispenses like tissue from a tissue box. You just pull on the top sheet and next sheet peeks out ready for use. The paper is soft and doesn’t scratch your face. It doesn’t ruin or remove your makeup or leave back any residue. It does a great job of absorbing all the oil off of my face. Because of large size of the paper, I only need to use 1 paper. Even though the Silk Oil Blotting Paper is great, I do have a few complaints. The first is the paper tears when too much oil is absorbed. I think the paper tears easily when oil is absorbed because the paper is on the thin side. Second, the flap pops open because the slot where the tab slides in to close the flap gets worn out. Even with these complaints, I will still continue to purchase the blotting paper because you get more bang for the buck compared to other brands.

Marie Louise Washing Foam ($51) With just a simple, easy push of the pump, dispense a lush, velvety foam cleanser that’s suitable for all skin types. Plant-derived cleansing agents gently sweep away impurities while skin’s natural moisture is retained, leaving skin perfectly soft and ready for nourishment. Also, its antibacterial formula with Quaternium-73 ushers the way to clear and healthy skin. For all skin types.
Marie Louise’s Washing Foam is a liquid cleanser that turns to a creamy, whipped foam when you pump it out. I love that it’s not a watery foam, because it won’t run down your arm or drip through your fingers. Less of a mess, the better. Did you know that the foam is created by the specially designed pump and not by a chemical reaction? Most foam washes foam because they contain sulfate and this what dries out your skin. Also, not to mention sulfate can be harmful. Besides being sulfate-free, I also love that there isn’t a fragrance and if there is, it’s so light it’s barely noticeable. The cleanser is perfect for all skin types. It is light and doesn’t leave your face feeling dry and tight. Instead, your face will be left feeling soft and freshly clean. It’s the type of cleanser you can use all year long.
Marie Louise Creme a-VC Facial Moisturizer ($109) A rich blend of esthetic elements including alpha-arbutin and stable Vitamin C derivatives. Enhanced by highly refined vitamins, this cream yields superior moisturizing results. Smooth and sensuous, it envelops skin’s surface with a veil of moisture leading to plumper, firmer skin. When used with Moistraiser α-VC, the skin’s natural vitality is enriched, and when used as a facial masque, its intense penetration leads to younger, more radiant-looking skin.
Ring the church bells and alert the town elders! I have found the almost perfect moisturizer for winter! It’s the Marie Louise Creme a-VC Facial Moisturizer. The only thing keeping the Creme a-VC from being perfect? The hefty price tag. Ignore the price tag and you will agree the facial moisturizer is indeed the perfect remedy to dry skin.
I don’t know about you, but I loathe winter because the coldness wreaks havoc on my skin. Yes, it does get cold in California contrary to many beliefs. My skin gets super dry, the skin around my nose starts to peel and crack, my skin turns dull, and I have to bust out the thick facial moisturizer that always leaves my face feeling heavy and greasy. Enter Marie Louise’s Creme a-VC to save the day! The Creme a-VC is a rich facial moisturizer that will leave your face feeling moisturized and so soft without the heavy, greasy feeling that usually accompanies rich facial moisturizers. Do you know what that means? It means all skin types can use the Creme a-VC! Also, within a couple of days of using the facial moisturizer, you’ll notice your skin is no longer dead and dull looking. Instead, your complexion will be bright with a youthful glow. And unlike other rich facial moisturizers, the Creme a-VC absorbs quickly into your skin. Still not convinced it’s the perfect moisturizer for winter? Well, a little goes a long way so the jar will be lasting you for quite awhile. Plus, it doubles as a facial mask! Two products for the price of one!
If you’re not on a budget or can afford the Marie Louise Creme a-VC Facial Moisturizer, do try it this up coming winter. You won’t regret it. Now if only Marie Louise made a creme a-VC hand and body moisturizer I would be set for the winter.
Kose Medicated Seikisho Whitening Mask ($20.40)
This peel-off black whitening pack achieves a whitening effect by continuing to deliver active ingredients deep into the keratin layer while simultaneously removing keratotic plugs (comedo), melanin and old keratin that contribute to dark pores.
Eliminates the causes of a dull complexion and maintains pure, white and clear translucency. Also contributes to smoother skin. Formulated with black nano-powder that readily disperses on the skin. It adheres closely, as if bonding with the skin, thanks to its excellent film-forming power, fast drying and airtightness.
It soothes skin suffering from the effects of fatigue and contributes to comfortable firmness and even smoothness. Formulated with five Japanese and Chinese herbal extracts, including wormwood extract and goldthread extracts.
I would have never tried this facial mask if a friend hadn’t recommended it to me. Also, I heard it was really popular in Asia. First off, the mask is black. It’s a really thick, black creme that was difficult to squeeze out of the tube. Because it’s so thick, I found it difficult to spread. It was quite a mess! You have to apply the mask quickly, because the mask dries really quickly and boy does it dry up! It dries up to the point where you can’t move any part of your face that is covered with the black creme. Removing the mask was a nightmare for me. It’s not the kind of mask you can wipe off with a wash cloth. It’s the kind you peel off. It’s like pulling an extremely sticky and strong band-aid off your face really, really slowly. Ow! Major pain alert! The only fun part about applying this mask is checking out all the gunk and dead skin that was removed. Not only did it remove all the gunk and dead skin from my face, it removed the little hairs too! It’s like getting your face waxed. So did it brighten my complexion? No. My face was red from peeling the mask off. I don’t recommend the Kose Medicated Seikisho Whitening Mask at all. It’s like a giant Biore strip for your face. Unless you’re a fan of the Biore strip, skip this mask.
