Cellnique Review and Photos

Cellnique Advanced Bio Renewal Masque ($51) This unparalleled scrub masque is formulated with bio-captured fresh fruit enzymes and acids complex. It works effectively in exfoliating dead cells, optimizing cellular renewal performance and deep pore cleansing, thus revealing a softer, fresher and healthier skin.

Cellnique Derma Brightening Complex ($45) Formulated with liposamal Willow Bark Extract and Vitamin C, this strongly-effective yet gentle formulation works excellent on skin discoloration, dull and uneven skin tone, restores skin’s luminous glow without provoking any skin irritation or peeling. Unprecedented clarity radiates from within.

My Thoughts:

Cellnique’s Advanced Bio Renewal Masque is a clay mask with tiny, little grains. The tiny, little grains don’t scratch your face or leave your face feeling raw. The masque itself has a fresh yogurt-like smell with a slight hint of soy sauce. It’s a strange smell, but it’s not very strong. You only smell it when you’re applying  the masque. When you apply the masque, the rubbing you do allows the grains to exfoliate your skin. The grains also exfoliate your skin when you wash off the masque. I left the masque on for about 15 minutes. During those 15 minutes, I could feel a tingling. It wasn’t bothersome or irritating, just noticeable. While waiting for the masque to dry, it didn’t dry to the point where you couldn’t move your face. Washing the masque off was very easy. All I needed was a wash cloth and water. The masque helped my skin look more even toned and not so blotchy. Also, it left my face feeling super soft and smooth. You only need to use the masque at night a couple times a week.

After using Cellnique’s Advanced Bio Renewal Masque, I would apply Cellnique Derma Brightening Complex. I used Cellnique Derma Brightening Complex every day, in the morning and at night. Even though the Derma Brightening Complex looks oily, it’s not. There was no irritation or unpleasant smell. I may have imagined this, but to me it had a vanilla/bakery scent. After you apply the Derma Brightening Complex, it leaves a sticky/tacky feeling while it is being absorbed into your skin. After it is absorbed (takes a minute or two), the sticky/tacky feeling disappears. A little advice: wait for the serum to fully absorb before applying makeup. If you don’t, the serum will cling to the makeup and cause the makeup to ball up. Cellnique Derma Brightening Complex helped my face look brighter and more awake. It also made my face feel very soft and smooth. This may be because my face is on the oily side, but I didn’t need to follow up with a moisturizer since Cellnique Derma Brightening Complex provided enough moisture. I also noticed my face was less oily too.

Overall, I really liked Cellnique’s Advanced Bio Renewal Masque and Derma Brightening Complex, minus the smell of the masque. It did everything it was suppose to do. It helped even out and brighten my skin tone, fade acne scars and dark spots, and left my face feeling soft and smooth. I just wish the price wasn’t so high.

Kose Medicated Seikisho Whitening Mask Review

Kose Medicated Seikisho Whitening Mask ($20.40)

This peel-off black whitening pack achieves a whitening effect by continuing to deliver active ingredients deep into the keratin layer while simultaneously removing keratotic plugs (comedo), melanin and old keratin that contribute to dark pores.

Eliminates the causes of a dull complexion and maintains pure, white and clear translucency. Also contributes to smoother skin. Formulated with black nano-powder that readily disperses on the skin. It adheres closely, as if bonding with the skin, thanks to its excellent film-forming power, fast drying and airtightness.

It soothes skin suffering from the effects of fatigue and contributes to comfortable firmness and even smoothness. Formulated with five Japanese and Chinese herbal extracts, including wormwood extract and goldthread extracts.

My Thoughts:

I would have never tried this facial mask if a friend hadn’t recommended it to me. Also, I heard it was really popular in Asia. First off, the mask is black. It’s a really thick, black creme that was difficult to squeeze out of the tube. Because it’s so thick, I found it difficult to spread. It was quite a mess! You have to apply the mask quickly, because the mask dries really quickly and boy does it dry up! It dries up to the point where you can’t move any part of your face that is covered with the black creme. Removing the mask was a nightmare for me. It’s not the kind of mask you can wipe off with a wash cloth. It’s the kind you peel off. It’s like pulling an extremely sticky and strong band-aid off your face really, really slowly. Ow! Major pain alert! The only fun part about applying this mask is checking out all the gunk and dead skin that was removed. Not only did it remove all the gunk and dead skin from my face, it removed the little hairs too! It’s like getting your face waxed. So did it brighten my complexion? No. My face was red from peeling the mask off. I don’t recommend the Kose Medicated Seikisho Whitening Mask at all. It’s like a giant Biore strip for your face. Unless you’re a fan of the Biore strip, skip this mask.

My Beauty Diary Mask Natto Mask Review

My Beauty Diary Mask Natto Mask ($14.90 for 10)

My Beauty Diary Natto Mask is enriched with Natto extract, which contains Isoflavones to prevent formation of free radicals, reducing the appearance of all signs of aging, such as wrinkles, slacking etc.

It also contains r-PGA which not only forms a moisture film on skin to prevent moisture loss, but also permeates into skin to boost NMF (Natural Moisture Factor). Bio-active Silanols and Algae Extract work to restore radiance and elasticity.

For all skin types, particularly for dull, dry, loose skin.

My Thoughts:

The Natto mask is perfect for winter and when you have dry skin. The mask left my face feeling extremely moisturized, smooth, and soft. I also noticed my face was plumper and brighter. The effects last a long time, because I used this at night and the next morning my face was still moisturized, smooth, and soft. There is also a lot of essence in each pack. So much you can rub some onto your neck, chest, hands, and where ever else. Out of all the My Beauty Diary, the Natto mask is my favorite so far. It was the least irritant and bothersome.

My Beauty Diary Black Pearl Mask Review

My Beauty Diary Black Pearl Mask ($14.90 for 10)

My Beauty Diary Black Pearl Mask whitens skin and restores elasticity for skin. It is ideal for all skin types, especially dull and loose skin.

Ultimate whitened skin: Ultimate whitening complex composed by black pearl extracts is a beauty ingredient containing amino acid and microelements. Blended with marine and botanical essences, it activates skin’s natural hydrating and whitening mechanism, leaving skin silky and radiant.

Leaves skin elastic and translucent: Natural vitamin C extracted from pineapple, rum and cucumber boosts metabolism and removes cuticles for fine, refresh, watery and white skin. Deep nourishment restores skin’s elasticity. Skin is revitalized and perfect.

My Thoughts:

Comparing the Black Pearl to Pearl Powder mask, I find I like the Pearl Powder more. Even though Black Pearl is more moisturizing and whitens the skin a lot more, it sort of irritated my skin. I noticed a slight tingly feeling the whole time the mask was on my face. It wasn’t bothersome, but I noticed it. I didn’t break out (thank goodness!), but it left little red, dry patches on my skin the next day. The mask has a citrus/lemony smell that reminded me of cleaning products. If you have sensitive skin like me, I wouldn’t recommend this to you. If you have normal skin, this mask could be a winner for you.

My Beauty Diary Pearl Powder Mask Review

My Beauty Diary Pearl Powder Mask ($4.60 for 2)

My Beauty Diary Pearl Powder Mask softens, whitens, activates and nourishes skin. It contains:

  • Amino acids and trace elementspresent in natural pearl powder can penetrate deep into the skin for supple, radiant look. Essence from the Mulberry extract helps in the hydration of the skin.
  • Vitamin B and Algae-Yeast complex
activates and nourishes the skin. Licorice and Lemon extracts help the skin to regain its balance while obtaining the nourishment at the same time.

My Thoughts:

My Beauty Diary Pearl Powder Mask leaves my face feeling oh so soft after using it. The mask doesn’t whiten my face a lot. It’s more of a slight brightening and refreshing effect. It has a baby powder smell to it. Also, like all the other masks, the essence is slimy.  It’s the type of mask you use if you just want to relax and aren’t expecting much. It’s just a simple, regular mask. Nothing special.
