Scunci No Slip Grip ($3.49) The No Slip Grip hair ties are truly no slip. These aren’t like your normal hair ties that are wrapped with cloth. Instead, these are rubbery plastic. It’s perfect for when you work out or when you need to pull back your hair. You won’t have to keep re-tying your hair. Plus, it has yet to loose its shape and elasticity, and I’ve been using it all day, everyday. I normally have to use two hair ties to hold up my thick, heavy hair. With the Scunci No Slip Grip, one hair tie is strong enough to hold up my hair. A little warning: the No Slip Grip hair tie does such a great job of gripping onto your hair that if you pull on it to take out the hair tie, it will pull out some strands of hair. It’s best to unwrap the hair tie from around your hair. People with thick hair who are still on the hunt for good hair ties, try the Scunci No Slip Grip. They are worth it.

Infiniti by Conair You Curl ($49.99) The You Curl has a unique, clamp-free design and a cone-shaped barrel that creates a softer, less structured curl. Simply wrap hair around the barrel, hold for a few seconds and then release. The conical design allows the curls to start closer to the root, allowing more volume through the middle and the bottom will have a tighter curl . The effect is trendy, free-flowing spirals with no “clamp kinks.”
My Thoughts:
If you have difficult-to-curl hair like me, you usually dread curling your hair or skip it all together. Finding a curling iron that can curl my hair and not cause frizz is very difficult. If/when I do find one, I make sure I hang onto to it tightly and tell the whole world about it. Trust me when I say the Infiniti by Conair You Curl is a curling iron you want to find and hang onto forever.
The clamp-free curling iron features Tourmaline Ceramic technology that provides protection and helps reduces frizz. The 5 different settings is perfect for use on all types of hair. The You Curl heats up very quickly (30 seconds!) and is very easy to use. To use, just wrap a section of hair around the barrel, hold for a few seconds, and voila! a beautiful kink-free curl. You can create all types of curls ranging from tight curls like Shirley Temple to wavy loose curls a la Giselle Bundchen. I love how the cord is very long and swivels. You don’t have to worry about tripping or getting caught up in the cord. My favorite feature of the You Curl is how light it is! I have super thick hair and lots of it! I probably have enough hair for 3 people so curling my hair with a curling iron can leave me with a super tired arm. If only you can imagine my giddy and delight when I was able to curl all of my hair and not suffer from a sore arm afterwards. Because it is so light, I was able to move from one section of hair to the next quickly therefore curling my hair faster than normal. I do have one teeny tiny complaint. I wish there was a way of knowing the curling iron is heated up and ready to use. I know it isn’t difficult to count to 30, but a little sign letting you know it’s ready would be nice. Overall, the Infiniti by Conair You Curl is an absolute must have.

My Thoughts:
I love Hot Tools curling irons. I own the 1 inch and the 2 inch curling irons. Ever since I cut my hair short, I wish I owned the 1.5 inch curling iron too. The curling iron can get ridiculously hot and does an amazing job of curling my thick Asian hair. I have the type of hair that will not and cannot hold a curl. I love that the curler heats up very quickly and has a super long cord. Because the curling iron can get really hot, it cuts the amount of time to curl my hair in half! Talk about time saver. Hot Tools makes high quality curling irons that are affordable. In fact, I want to say it is one of the best curling irons. Every curl is perfect spiral with no kinks. Even though Hot Tools curlers range from $37 to $47, you can always find it for half the price. Just check sites like Amazon, GlamourBeautyCenter, Folica, and Ulta (during sales).

My Thoughts:
I was able to get this from Ulta for free through their spending rewards club. I really like it and I’m glad I chose this as my reward. If you’re hoping it will create the loose beachy waves, it won’t. The waves it creates is similar to that of the waves you get when you braid your hair. If you have thick hair and a lot of it like me, I wouldn’t use it on every strand/layer of hair. You’ll end up with majorly big hair. I just use it on the top half of my hair. I’ll use it a little bit on the bottom half of my hair just to give the illusion that all of my hair is wavy. If you’re hair is fine and/or thin, you don’t have to worry about this problem.
It does take a couple of minutes to warm up, but it does really heat up. Be careful when using it because you can burn yourself if you’re not careful because the ends of the barrel don’t have the heat protectant material. I personally wouldn’t pay the full $45 for it because I can just braid my hair and leave it in overnight to get the same waves. However, it’s always on sale for nearly half price (check out Amazon) so get it then.
