My Thoughts:

The E.L.F Studio Small Angled Brush is almost the perfect size. It’s easy to control and use. I use it to apply cream and gel liners, brow powder, wax, and gel, and as a lip brush to apply lipstick. The brush is thin enough to provide thin, precise lines. The bristles aren’t too flimsy where it’s difficult to control or too thick where it goes all over the place. My only complaint is the handle is too long. When you need to be perfect and precise with your lines, you want to be able to get up close to a mirror. The long handle prevents that. Other than that complaint, I say stock up the E.L.F Studio Small Angled Brush because you’ll find yourself reaching for it a lot.

My Thoughts:

The E.L.F Studio Angled Foundation Brush isn’t a very good foundation brush. The bristles are too stiff and thin to be able to spread and blend the foundation evenly. Also, it left streaks all over my face because the bristles would clump together when wet. I also didn’t like the angled bristles. I thought it would be useful, but it just made applying foundation difficult. Instead of throwing the brush away or letting it go to waste, I turned it into a contouring brush and it works great. You can even use it to apply clay masks to avoid getting your hands dirty.

E.L.F Studio Brush Shampoo ($3) An anti-bacterial brush cleanser for thorough cleaning in-between makeup applications. Disinfects brushes to provide a fresh and clean application every time. Washes away traces of dirt, makeup, oil and debris from your brush while conditioning the hair to provide a clean and soft application for every use.

My Thoughts:

I have got to buy the E.L.F Studio Brush Shampoo in bulk! I really like the E.L.F Studio Brush Shampoo. It leaves all my brushes feeling so soft and so clean. Plus, no fragrance! Just the fresh, clean smell. It’s not a very big bottle of brush shampoo, but it’s concentrated shampoo so I always dilute it when I use it. Since I dilute it and a little goes a long way, the bottle will last even longer. I’m pretty sure it’s not the best brush shampoo available, but it’s the best and cheapest brush shampoo I’ve used so far. I will continue to use it until I find a better one.

The E.L.F Studio Blush Brush isn’t my favorite blush brush. I wish the brush head was bigger. I’ve got a cheeky face so I need a big blush brush to be able to apply blush evenly and naturally.  Besides wishing the brush head was bigger, I wish it wasn’tt so compact and flat. I thought it would be more rounded at the top. So instead of using the brush to apply blush, I use it to contour and highlight. It does a great job contouring and highlighting. It’s a soft brush that won’t scratch or irritate your face. It doesn’t shed either. As a blush brush, I would skip purchasing the E.L.F Studio Blush Brush. Even though it is super affordable, I think there are better and more worthwhile blush brushes to invest in.

The E.L.F Studio Kabuki Face Brush is $2 more expensive than the other E.L.F Studio brushes (still affordable by the way!). I mostly use the kabuki brush to buff away excess powder and/or to blend makeup. It’s a very soft brush. I just love running my fingers over the top of the bristles. It’s so soft, I can’t resist! I find myself reaching for the E.L.F Studio Kabuki brush more often than my other ones. I haven’t experienced any shedding, and I’ve washed it a few times already. It does take longer than other brushes to dry since it’s so dense. So either have a backup or time the washing so it will be dry by the time you need to use it again. It’s not my favorite and most used face brush, but it is my favorite kabuki brush thus far.

The E.L.F Studio Fan Brush is a great fan brush. It’s great for sweeping away excess powders and fall out from eyeshadows. I know some people use it to apply blush, but I feel it doesn’t pick up enough product to apply blush unless you like the look of barely there blush. Because the brush isn’t very dense, it doesn’t pick up a lot of product. It’s great for applying highlighter, shimmer, bronzer, or whenever you don’t want a heavy dusting of powder. The bristles are soft and fluffy. It’s a must total must-have.

E.L.F Studio Complexion Brush is another awesome E.L.F brush. This is just like the E.L.F Studio Powder Brush minus the flat top. I use this brush to apply powder face makeup: loose and pressed finishing powder, powder foundation, bronzer, and blush. It’s multifunctional! It’s a soft brush that won’t scratch or irritate your face. The brush is dense and has yet to shed. Gotta love you won’t find random brush hairs on your face after applying your makeup. The brush doesn’t pick up a lot of product which I love because you don’t have to worry about ending up with an over powdered and cakey face. The E.L.F Studio Complexion Brush is another must have brush from E.L.F.

My Thoughts:

All I can say is “Wow!” This powder brush is so soft but dense and so easy to use. I just love it! I use it to apply foundation, powder, bronzer, and blush. It’s a multifunctional brush. It doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin and I did not notice any shedding. The flat top allows you to stipple on liquid foundation even though I’m sure it wasn’t made for that, but it works! I love that it is only $3, but you can always get it for much cheaper because of the constant E.L.F sales. It looks and performs exactly like a high end professional brush, but only for a fraction of the price. My only regret? Not buying more!

Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge ($9.99) I’ve been curious about the Beauty Blender, but I’m not willing to shell out $20. Can you imagine my excitement when I found a blending sponge for much less? I don’t know how Sonia Kashuk’s Blending Sponge compares to the Beauty Blender because I have never used the Beauty Blender.

I have to admit, I did notice a difference after using the blending sponge to apply my foundation compared to when I used a foundation brush to apply. The finish looked more natural and more blended. I would have to say it provided a flawless airbrushed finish. The sponge is firm and very easy to control and hold. You wet the sponge before using and bounce the sponge against your face to apply the foundation. The shape of the sponge allows you to reach all the nooks and crannies of your face. Even with all the raves, I have to mention I did notice the sponge absorbing quite a bit of liquid foundation. I wash the sponge after every use, and I’m not quite sure how long the sponge will last. Crossing my fingers it will last awhile because I do not want to have to constantly shell out $10 for a sponge.
