NYX Slim Lip Pencil Part 2 Review, Photos, and Swatches

Share

NYX Lipliner Pencil ($3.50) Slim, trim but never prim, our lip pencils come in 60 dashing shades—from auburn to orange and traffic-stopping red. The buttery, long-wearing lip liner formula goes on easily and resists bleeding. Available in 60 shades.

My Thoughts:

836 Bloom -a bold fuchsia shade. I love to pair this up with a bold pink lipstick/gloss to make the color pop even more.

857 Nude Beige -a medium tan shade that I like to use for a nude or natural lip color.

858 Nude Pink -a light pink nude shade

860 Peekaboo Neutral – a nude shade with a hint of pink. This is my go to lip liner.

Overall, I wish the NYX Slim Lip Pencils were creamier. I don’t like it when lip products are on the dry side because it tends to tug on your lips. To be clear, it doesn’t dry out your lips. The texture just isn’t creamy.  However, I don’t have to worry about the color fading because it is quite long lasting! I would most definitely repurchase since it’s so affordable and there are so many shades to choose from!

My Thoughts:

810 Natural – a brownish beige shade. It’s great if you’re going for a nude/natural lip color.

812 Plum – a dark mauvy shade.

813 Plush Red – a bright red with a bit of orange.

817  Hot Red – a bright, bold red. I think it’s a perfect classic Hollywood red lip color.

Rimmel London Colour Rush Trio Eye Shadow Review, Photos, and Swatches

Rimmel London Colour Rush Trio Eye Shadow ($3.65) 8 hours soft and blendable Trio eyeshadow. Pure colour impact. Blends easily. Crease-proof.

My Thoughts:

Overall, I wasn’t very impressed with the Rimmel London Colour Rush Trio Eye Shadows. I thought they lacked pigmentation, which is such a shame, because the color combos they had were really pretty. To get the colors to show up, I had to take a few layers before the color would show up. I also noticed the lasting power wasn’t that great either. By the end of the day, the color had disappeared and all I was left with was sparkly shimmer.

I own 2 Rimmel London Colour Rush Trio Eye Shadows. I have them in 624 Lynx and 730 Spices.

624 Lynx: shimmery white and purple and matte brown shades.  I guess I can use this for the day time since the colors don’t show up very well, but I was hoping to use this at night for a soft smoky eye.

730 Spices: 3 shimmery peachy, nude shades. Oh boy! I could barely get the 3 shades to show up. I kept seeing shimmer. If I could get the color to show up, they looked so similar to each other that it was different to distinguish between them .

E.L.F Zit Zapper Review

Share

E.L.F Zit Zapper ($1) Zap zits away with the unique blend of Salicylic Acid, Tea Tree Oil, Witch Hazel and Camphor. This special clear formula helps to fight and prevent acne, reduce redness and swelling, minimize pore size and clear skin.

My Thoughts:

I was cruising up and down the aisles at Target when I spotted this bad boy. I had forgotten I always wanted to try the E.L.F Zit Zapper. I snatched it up and figured if it didn’t work, it was only $1. I also remembered reading on Lulu’s blog about how much she liked it and how well it worked for her.

The E.L.F Zit Zapper is a clear liquid that is packaged with a roller ball applicator. What I really like about the Zit Zapper is that it didn’t dry out or irritate my skin. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now, and it has prevented breakouts along my hairline on my forehead. It has also decreased the amount of breakouts too. The change didn’t occur immediately and over night. It was a gradual improvement.  I should say that the type of acne I used the Zit Zapper on were the tiny acne. The ones where your pores are clogged from oil and dirt. I know yuck! I don’t know if it will work on the cystic ones. I use it every night, and I have yet to make a dent in the amount of product. I have a feeling it will be lasting for a few months (even with daily use!).

I can’t get over the fact that it was only $1! I’ve used acne products that cost 10, 20, 30, even 50 times more, and they didn’t work as well as the Zit Zapper. Overall, I would recommend and repurchase the E.L.F Zit Zapper.

L’Oreal HIP Shadow Duo Part 3 Review, Photos, and Swatches

L’Oreal HIP Shadow Duo ($7.99)

My Thoughts:

To read about the overall performance of the L’Oreal HIP Shadow Duos, read my review here.

This review is for the following shades: Charisma 518, Poppy 807, Foxy 808, and Mischief 908.

Charisma 518 -a pinky purple and grape purple. The pinky purple looks very pretty in the pan, but barely shows up on my skin. You really have to layer it on for the shade to be visible. The grape purple is very pigmented, but it doesn’t show up as bold as it is in the pan.

Poppy 807 -a matte golden mustard yellow and matte brown. I’m not a fan of these shades. I feel something is missing. I know they are matte shades, but I just feel it needs something to make them pop and more noticeable.

Foxy 808 -a shimmery soft pink and matte dark brown. I love the shimmery pink shade. Even though it doesn’t really show up, it gives off a pretty romantic vibe. It’s a great highlight shade. I wish the brown wasn’t so dark. It would’ve been the perfect duo if the brown was a bit lighter.

Mischief 908 - a shimmery golden champagne and matte dark greyish blue. I love this duo. I use the shimmery golden champagne shade as a highlight and the dark greyish blue for a smokey eye effect. The greyish blue shade is so dark it’s almost black.
