The newest addition to Stila’s One Step category, One Step Correct is a ground-breaking, triple-swirled helix serum that instantly color corrects, brightens, primes, and nourishes the skin. On top of the immediately gratifying benefits, the infusion of Stila’s exclusive Youth Revival Bio-Available Mineral Complex™ improves skintone, evens out the complexion, and helps smooth fine lines and wrinkles.

My Thoughts:

I am so glad I found the Stila One Step Correct. Instead of having to buy green, yellow/peach, and purple correctors, it’s all in one bottle! Plus, it’s a primer! It helped with evening out skintone , brightening your complexion, and oil control. When I applied the corrector, I noticed a pleasant cooling feeling. It was quite relaxing. The subtle shimmer the corrector has helped create a healthy glow. I love how it feels so light and is absorbed very quickly. It doesn’t feel like other primers on the market. It’s more of a gel-like serum. It’s a pricey primer, but a little goes a long way.

My Thoughts:

I love how soft and creamy the Kajal eyeliner is. I also love how pigmented the eyeliners are. However, I do not love how much it smudges and transfers. It is best to avoid this eyeliner because it will smudge and smear within a couple of hours even with a primer. If it smeared to create a sexy, smudgy, smoky look, I wouldn’t be complaining. Instead, it travels all over and around your eye creating a I-just-rubbed-my-eye-and-now-my-makeup-is-all-over-my-face look. Not attractive at all. It’s very difficult to apply a thin line so applying to the lower lash line is out of the question. Also, because the pencil is so soft, it’s difficult to sharpen. It gets really annoying when you have to sharpen after every use. Stila Kajal Eyeliner is definitely not worth $18. I wouldn’t get it even if it was free. It’s best to avoid it.

Revitabrow ($110) Utilizing the power of peptides and botanicals for strengthening, conditioning and nourishing, and advanced technology, RevitaBrow helps revitalize eyebrows so they look thicker and fuller. A simple swipe of the RevitaBrow applicator can help you achieve a more polished look by causing your eyebrows to appear healthier. When applied daily on a clean brow, you should start to see fuller, thicker looking brows within weeks!

My Thoughts:

I admit it. I’m probably the last person who needs Revitabrow. I’m grateful my brows are dark and long, but I can’t help but wish for thicker, fuller eyebrows. My first thought Revitabrow would do was grow more eyebrow hairs, but it didn’t. In fact, on the packaging slip was a disclaimer that said, “RevitaBrow Eyebrow Conditioner is not intended to treat, prevent, cure, relieve, resolve, stop or reduce hair loss or to promote the growth of hair.” So it doesn’t promote hair growth? Interesting.

I’ve been using Revitabrow for about 2 months now in hopes of getting thicker, fuller brows. Even though it didn’t help grow more eyebrow hairs, it did make my already dark eyebrows a tinsy tad bit darker. It also did make my eyebrows look more healthier and not so dull looking. I think Revitabrow would work better on a person who had lighter colored eyebrows. You would be able to notice a much bigger difference than I did. I feel because my eyebrows are already so dark, the results weren’t that noticeable. Don’t get me wrong. Revitabrow did what it claimed to do. It darkened my eyebrows to give off the appearance of thicker eyebrows and helped them appear healthier. I just think the results were not definite enough for me to justify spending $110 every few months to keep the results.

Marie Louise applies new technology to highly refined vitamins for deeper penetration, leaving skin even more supple and clear. High caliber moisturizing effects banish dryness over time. Excellent for massages due to its distinctive smooth texture.

My Thoughts:

This is not like your typical toner. Instead of drying out your skin, Marie Louise’s Moistraiser α-VC hydrates your skin. Also, unlike other toners, you don’t have to wash it off. You just leave it on your face after applying. It is very easy to apply. Pour about a quarter sized amount into the palm of your hand and smooth it over your face. Lightly pat your face until the toner is absorbed. No cotton balls or cotton pads involved. You will be left with a healthy glowing look and hydrated soft skin.

After using the Moistraiser α-VC for nearly a month, I noticed my skin was less blotchy and more even-toned. It helped fade/lighten some discoloration and made my complexion appear more clearer. I like that the toner helps hydrates my skin that way I won’t have to depend so much on face cream to keep my skin hydrated. I also like that it is fragrance-free. I cannot tell you much I loathe the alcohol smell that comes with a lot of toners. It doesn’t irritate nor cause any breakouts. It’s perfect for every skin type, even sensitive skin.

The Vitamin-E-enriched formula pampers lips while unique pigment binders protect lip colors from any pout imperfections.

My Thoughts:

Too Faced Lip Insurance Primer was surprisingly moisturizing. Usually lip primers are dry and bit difficult to apply. My favorite feature of the Lip Insurance is it came in a tube with a wand instead of a lipstick tube. It made applying the primer so much easier. The primer is a white gel-like substance, but when you apply it, it goes on clear. When I applied it, it didn’t feel sticky or heavy at all. The key is to wait a minute or 2 after applying the primer before applying lipcolor. The primer won’t keep your lipcolor lasting all day and night. Let’s face it. With all the eating, drinking, and licking of lips there is no way any lip color is going to stay put even with primer. However, it does an excellent job of keeping the color from bleeding and fading. All you need is a thin layer. It’s one of the best lip primers I have used so far. It’s very rare to find a lip primer that doesn’t dry out your lips.

Our silicone based eyeshadow primer transforms any eyeshadow into a perfectly blendable, color-drenched, intensified version of itself, then locks it down perfectly until you take it off. This soothing formula evens out the skintone on your lids and smoothes lines while securing a barrier between the oils of your skin and your makeup, so no shadow catastrophes will ever happen again.

My Thoughts:

Pros:

works great with both cream and powder shadows

prevents creasing and fading all day long, but not as long as Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer

goes on smooth

more sanitary (than Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer)

you can squeeze out all of the product (unlike Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer. To get out all the product, you have to cut open the bottle)

Cons

its got a greasy feel/texture

the product separates. Sometimes when you squeeze the tube, oil comes out first then the primer

My Thoughts:

This is my go-to facial moisturizer when my face gets oily which is basically starting from late spring to early fall. It’s a light weight slightly watery facial moisturizer that does a great job of keeping my face from getting super oily shiny. It doesn’t keep my face completely matte all day, but it does cut down on my blotting to once a day in the afternoon. I normally have to blot at least twice throughout the day if I don’t use the Shiseido Matifying Moisturizer. The moisturizer doesn’t clog my pores or cause any breakouts. It feels very light and gets absorbed quickly leaving my face feeling so soft and smooth. My face feels so soft I can’t stop touching it! The one thing I don’t like about the moisturizer is the smell. I noticed an alcohol smell, but it quickly fades away within a minute. The price is high, but 1-2 pumps is all you need. A bottle has lasted me nearly a year with daily use.

custom airless pump is sooo easy to use? just a dab’ll do ya!

My Thoughts:

NO NO NO NO! NO! I’m sorry to say Benefit’s Stay Don’t Stray is not a very good product. Truthfully, I did not notice a difference between using Stay Don’t Stray and not using a primer at all. As you know, I have super oily lids so primer is a must for me. This primer was not able to keep the eyeshadow from creasing and fading. I think it made the creasing worse. Is that possible? I know people have complained about the pump dispensing too much product, but I didn’t encounter this problem. Instead of pushing the pump all the way down, I only pushed the pump maybe 1/3 way downward. Just enough to dispense a drop. A good thing about the primer is that it did even out my eyelid’s skin tone. Overall, it is best to avoid Benefit’s Stay Don’t Stray. There are so many eyeshadow primers on the market that are much cheaper and work much better.

This smudge-proof eyeshadow base uses a unique polymer and mineral powder blend to get a firm grip on color for long-lasting, gorgeous wear. Fortified with a special deep-sea extract and an antioxidant rice extract, it dries on contact and keeps the delicate eye lid smooth and ready for eyeshadow application.
Ophthalmologist and dermatologist tested. Fragrance free.

My Thoughts:

This is a gel-like primer that does an excellent job of keeping eyeshadow and eyeliner stay put and crease free. It also goes on colorless! I love that it isn’t sticky and is matte. The primer keeps the color of the eyeshadow and eyeliner staying vibrant too. I have to say $24 is quite expensive, but a little goes a long way. I haven’t decided if it’s better than Urban Decay’s Primer Potion or Too Faced Shadow Insurance, but it is another eyeshadow primer you can try if Urban Decay and Too Faced didn’t work for you.

My Thoughts:

The kit comes with sample sizes of different products that is perfect for summer: bronzer, highlighter, nail polish, and more! My favorite product from the kit is Too Faced Pink Leopard Bronzing Powder. I may have to pick up the full size version once I use my sample up. This is a great buy if you love trying out new products and want to find out which products work for you but don’t want to shell out the huge amounts of money. Not only that, these products are great sizes to travel with. If you’re still a little hesitant, you do get 1 full size product in the sampler kit: Korres Monoi Oil Bronzing Powder and that is valued at $28. Come on! What are you waiting for? Get it!
