Benefit It Stick Review

benefit-it-stickBenefit It Stick ($20) why we love it: An instant concealing pencil that disguises lines, blemishes and flaws for a smoother, younger appearance. This stick is IT!

what else you need to know: A few strokes of this ecru colored diffusing pencil in just the right places will help make you look young and cheery in seconds.

My  Thoughts:

I like to toss this into my bag when I travel or just in my purse in general. No worries about leakage. It’s a creamy concealer (it’s still creamy even when I forget to put the cap back on!) I don’t use it to cover major blemishes, just for a quick redness and fine lines concealing around the nose, mouth, and the eyelid. I also sometimes use this as a highlighter to highlight my brow bone and inner eye corners. I don’t think it will work for people with a dark complexion, but if you have a light to medium-light complexion, I think it will work for you.

Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Concealer Review

make-up-for-ever-hd-invisible-cover-concealerMake Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Concealer ($28)

HD Invisible Cover Concealer
What it is:
An oil-free, medium-coverage concealer that covers imperfections while remaining invisible to high-definition televisions and the naked eye.

What it does:
This concealer creates a soft-focus effect, brightening the eye area while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for a natural, radiant look. The innovative soft silicone applicator enables precise application for a perfectly even finish on camera and in person.

My Thoughts:

This is a really good concealer. Probably one of the best concealers I have used. I got it in 335 Medium Beige. It provided medium coverage and looks very natural. This a twisting pen so you have to twist the pen in order for the concealer to dispense at the tip. Also, unlike most twisting pens it doesn’t have a brush like tip. Instead, it’s silicone tip. There’s a tiny hole at the tip for the concealer to ooze out of. Check out the up close picture of the tip below. I personally don’t like the twisting pen idea. It’s a pain in the butt if you’re in the hurry and you’re twisting and twisting waiting for the product to come out. What makes it worse is if you over twist and too much product comes out. There is no way to put the product back. Another thing I don’t like about the packaging is, the concealer will dry up at the tip and clog the opening. It’s really annoying! I love to use this concealer to conceal my under-eye circles. It totally disguises them and brightens the area. It makes me look more fresh and awake. It also works really well covering up blemishes.

Smashbox High Definition Liquid Concealer Review

smashbox-high-definition-liquid-concealerSmashbox High Definition Liquid Concealer ($18)  Our revolutionary new weightless concealer instantly smoothes skin and makes dark circles and imperfections virtually disappear. The good-for-your-skin formula includes cell-energizing ribose, soy, angelica extract and caffeine to reduce redness, dark circles and under eye puffiness. Soft focus pearls reflect light to minimize the appearance of fine lines and blemishes. The soft touch precision applicator provides the smoothest application for the most delicate skin areas. Provides buildable coverage with a natural finish.

My Thoughts:

I really like this concealer. It provides coverage, but not complete coverage, for my dark circles without caking and accentuating fine lines. The conclear has a texture that is smooth and creamy. It also blends well. Goes great with my Smashbox High Definition Healthy FX Foundation. I think it’s worth giving it a try.

Urban Decay Surreal Skin Creamy Concealer Review

urban-decay-surreal-skin-creamy-concealerUrban Decay Surreal Skin Creamy Concealer ($16) Super creamy blendable concealer with medium coverage to cover dark circles and blemishes.

My Thoughts:

This is a pretty good concealer. It goes on smoothly and doesn’t get cakey. It’s creamy enough to use for under eye circles. I would buy this again, but none of the shades (there are only 2 shades to choose from) worked with my Asian super yellow undertones. And the search continues for the holy grail concealer.

Clinique Quick Corrector Concealer Review

clinique-quick-correctorClinique Quick Corrector ($14)  Liquid concealer with sponge-tip applicator. Quick-drying formula is easy to blend. In a portable vial. Ophthalmologist tested.

My Thoughts:

This a medium to full coverage concealer that does a great job of covering up blemishes. It’s light-weight and lasts all day. It’s not creamy, but a rather dry formulas so I wouldn’t use it on the under eye area. Don’t layer on too much because it can get cakey when you set it with powder. I’m still searching for the holy grail concealer, but in the meantime, this will concealer will do.

Smashbox Camera Ready Full Coverage Concealer Review

smashbox-camera-ready-full-coverage-concealerSmashbox Camera Ready Full Coverage Concealer ($18) Dark circles and blotchy spots are a thing of the past with this vitamin-infused, portable fix-it stick. The innovative formula contains a soft focus powder to help minimize imperfections and vitamin C to fight free radicals and keep your skin looking younger. Provides natural yet buildable coverage on any area of the face.

My Thoughts:

This concealer isn’t all that great. It has no lasting power, isn’t blendable, and has very little coverage. A good thing about this concealer is it doesn’t get cakey. I wouldn’t repurchase because it didnt conceal anything, and for $18 you don’t get that much product. If it was a concealer that actually did what it’s suppose to do, then I wouldn’t mind spending $18.

Tip of the Week

Got body breakouts? Chances are the conditioner from your hair was not completely rinsed off your body. Use a body scrub a couple times a week.
